Hello, friends! Welcome to my website.
I write essays and poems. I take landscape and nature photographs. I also bake and make art.
I was born and raised in Kentucky. I’m descended from Atlantic Creoles, Andalusians, Finns, Scottish Highlanders, folks from the West of Ireland — and a slew of other interesting people. These folks settled in the Chesapeake, the Outer Banks, the Cumberland Plateau, the Llano Estacado, and the coal fields and farms of western Kentucky. My relatives and ancestors have influenced me, from the things that I write to the photos I take, to the food that I make and the stories I tell.
